Sukhjit "Sarge" Takhar, MD, SM is a physician-scientist in evidence-based longevity medicine and the Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of PrimaryMD, a concierge primary care practice in San Mateo and New York. He is triple board-certified in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Infectious Disease, trained across all three at UCLA, and holds an SM in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. A former faculty member at Harvard Medical School and UCSF, he has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and chapters in both Tintinalli's and Rosen's, the standard textbooks of emergency medicine. His work centers on a simple claim: in modern medicine, the scarce resource is not data. It is judgment.

Dr. Takhar earned his M.D. at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, then trained at UCLA in internal medicine, emergency medicine, and infectious disease. He is board-certified in all three. He holds an SM in Epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health, where he trained in causal inference, the discipline of determining what actually works in medicine and what only appears to.

He served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and UCSF, and practiced emergency medicine and internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where residents voted him Outstanding Attending in 2016 and 2017 and Mentor of the Year in 2017. He has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and more than 20 textbook chapters, including chapters in both Tintinalli's and Rosen's Emergency Medicine, and has served as an event physician and consultant to the National Basketball Association since 2020.

After two decades of treating serious disease up close, he grew skeptical of both sides of modern healthcare: a system that waits too long to intervene, and a longevity industry that intervenes without enough evidence.
